It Takes A Village!

I wasn't sure how to approach this post, seeing as how it's very difficult to write about a massacre. But I just wanted to share a few thoughts. First and foremost, my heart goes out to the families and friends who lost loved ones at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown Connecticut. It boggles the sane mind that there are people who commit these heinous acts against people, or in this case, innocent babies. I can't imagine what the victims have experienced. I wish them comfort, peace, and a healthy time of grieving.

Hell hath no fury...like a jealous woman!

It's been said that nothing's more dangerous than a woman with a plan. That's no longer valid. A jealous woman with a plan AND access to a computer is dangerous. See, women can become jealous over the most minute of things. I've had moments where I've been jealous of another person's success to the easy way  some people manage to float through life without a care in the world. But my worst moments have come from my being jealous of the attention a guy that I'm either dating or have a silly teenage crush on is giving/has given another female. And this is where the FBI worthy research comes into play.

Skyfall: Slightly Shaken but Never Stirred

Britain's most famous and dapper spy James Bond returns to theaters nationwide today to celebrate 50 years in the film industry.  Skyfall is, simply put, a badass action thriller and a much needed comeback for die-hard fans who were beyond disappointed with the lackluster Quantum of Solace. Daniel Craig's performance in Skyfall not only redeems his place as the 6th 007, but also further solidifies himself as the true embodiment of what's expected from an espionage veteran: sleek gadgets, witty dialogue, exotic women, pristine tailored suits and of course, a vintage Aston Martin that'll leave you wishing for a joy ride.

First Day of Fall...

Fall is my favorite season. It symbolizes the beginning of a rebirth; in order to be reborn, one must first die. That's a tad bit dramatic but it's true. The earth must undergo a process of dying in order to come alive again in the Spring. Some people dread it because of the colder weather, school resumes, the days become shorter and nights are longer, etc.

Why are YOU single?

"Why are you single?" is a question that I get asked frequently from single men. Don't think that this is a question I'm asked on a day to day basis, but it happens. Every time, I hesitate with an answer. And depending on a woman's mood, the answer(s) could vary:

Dame's Chicken & Waffles

I had the pleasure of visiting Dame's Chicken & Waffles during their soft opening. Aware of the rave word of mouth reviews I've heard of both Glady's and Ron's Chicken & Waffles in Atlanta and Roscoe's House of Chicken'n Waffles in Los Angeles, I was eager to try something new.

September's Company Spotlight Sneak Peek:

This past Labor Day weekend, I had the opportunity to visit Dame's Chicken & Waffles. Read my review and interview with the owner, Dame Moore tomorrow!

If you're a bad bitch...

Watching this video had me near tears...we as women are much more than a bad bitch. Do not accept what these puppeteers are redefining as a compliment. Know that you aren't a bitch at all. Stop being afraid to correct whomever calls you out of your name. Demand respect ladies. Peace.

Girl Code!

Guy Code is one of my favorite shows to watch. I love to hear what most guys are thinking, usually because they're so candid. This doesn't mean that I completely understand because after all, I am a woman and despite the recent uprising, I can't think like a man. Anyway, what that show has inspired to me to do is to write my own rules/advice, but for the sensible woman:

Lightskin vs. Darkskin: Who Cares??

I was going to begin this post with some long, drawn-out, violin-worthy story about how I've been affected by intraracial discrimination by females in the black community. But I decided not to share it. Why?

Tell your Friends "No"

I believe that a person's friends reflect on who they are as a person. This doesn't mean that you are exactly like your friends but you share some mutual interests, enjoy each other's company, etc. But what happens when you begin to notice the idiotic choices your friend has been making? Do you call them out, expressing your genuine concern? The answer is no most times and here's why:

Tabi & Gary's Engagement *7.7.12*

The number 7 symbolizes completeness, perfection, balance, and fullness. My sister Tabi was born on the 7th day of July. It is also the day she received the best surprise a girl could ever dream of on her special day.

First things first...

Hello everyone! This blog has been a long time coming...and by that I mean that I've finally stopped being lazy and committed to accomplishing a goal on my list of "Things I Really Want To Do". Now that I'm at the ripe old age of 25, I've placed a burden upon myself to accomplish a plethora of things, this being one. But writing is what I do, what I've done since I could hold a pencil. And I'm happy to have the gumption to want to publically share my thoughts. Now, let's get started!

Instagram is down y'all. People are losing it.
